Every once in a while a piece of mail arrives here at the office that simply makes my day. The note at left is one. It's from a friend at the Ohio Young Birders Club, a wonderful group that Kenn Kaufman introduced us to in an essay in our December 2006 issue ("Why We Must Continue Birdwatching," p.34). On May 26, the club held its first-ever Ohio Young Birders' Conference at the all-new visitor and education center at Ottawa NWR. The event was sponsored by the Black Swamp Bird Observatory and the Ottawa refuge. We couldn't attend, but we wanted to help out, so we sent copies of our June issue, on newsstands now, as a bag stuffer for all the attendees, and it sounds like they liked it. Good birding to every one! --C.H.
